The Dee is renowned as one of the great salmon rivers of the world. With glorious pools and the fast flowing nature of the river it provides some of Scotland’s best fly fishing water. The season begins at the beginning of February and ends at he end of September.

The Salmon fishing experience is a must for those keen to get into the sport of Salmon fishing, or those experienced anglers that are looking to enjoy fishing the river Dee. Full day and multi day packages are subject to availability and pricing will vary according to the time of year.

The half day and evening salmon fishing experience is aimed towards those that are short of time and really want to come and try and catch some salmon.

RIVER DON TROUT FISHING

The River Don runs adjacent to the River Dee and it is one of Scotland’s famed Brown Trout rivers. Although it has a good run of Salmon and adequate run of sea trout most of its visiting anglers return for its quality brown trout.

The season begins in April and through to May is thought of as the best time for the larger fish, this river produces 4lb + brown trout every year although not always easy to catch. As the summer approaches June and July can be very good, with longer evenings to enjoy being on the river. By August and September the Trout fishing can still be good, however as it cools down hatches can become a little more sporadic, however the river is really filling up with salmon by this time offering the chance of multi species.

Hatches are pretty consistent on the Don (although not guaranteed) and fishing with dries, wets, spiders and nymphs is the norm.

It is an intimate river for you to enjoy in the beautiful Scottish Highlands with good numbers of trout and a real chance of a trophy.

LOCH TROUT FISHING

We have various lochs we can take clients to, most are stocked with rainbow trout, occasionally blue trout, with some wild brown trout. This gives us the option to fish all year with no closed season.

Secluded lochs either fishing from the boat or banks allow you to really enjoy rural Scotland with a good chance of catching.

This is very popular with complete beginners to fly fishing and children as there is a good chance of catching the hungry stocked fish.

We generally begin with a short casting lesson before heading to the water to give you the best chance of catching.
